The inquiring turn of mind of Catalan society during the transition from the 19thC. To 20thC. Made it receptive to all types of new developments and interchanges at a very significant moment of the history of the world and of Europe in particular. Sweden was living through a rich, euphoric period, establishing itself, together with the other Scandinavian countries, as one of the cynosures of Europe, while Catalan culture was living through an equally thriving and creative era. The result was series of contacts that led in turn to the setting up of mutual relationship between them, the key features of which are analysed in this volume.
